The | Sound | Of | AloneA beautiful she-cat sat at one end of the camp and groomed herself, her tongue stokes were long and rhythmic. This she-cat was known to all as Sirenstar, leader of RiverClan. The sun warmed her pelt from above, showing all was well right now. It was tongue-sharing time, but Sirenstar sat alone and groomed herself. She didn't care, it didn't bothered her much. She was too lost in thought to care anyway. Her thoughts drifted to her Clan, as always. She wanted to make sure all was well and that each cat was healthy. The new medicine cat was doing a great job and she had a deputy. There was no conflict going on, so Sirenstar tried to push the thoughts of her Clan out of her mind.

Birchnose hurried into the camp, a mouse clamped in her jaws. Her tail stuck straight in the air, and her blue eyes glinted with pride. The RiverClan she-cat allowed herself a lick after she deposited the prey in the fresh-kill pile. She picked up a nice-looking shrew and scanned the camp to see whoever was alone. The only person was...Sirenstar? Sirenstar, of all cats! She would've expected that Sirenstar be the person that had the most cats crowding around her! Birchnose's blue eyes flashed disbelievingly, her ears quivering, but she padded over to her leader, dipping her head respectfully as she came. Sirenstar, she murmured, dropping the shrew at her feet. You look hungry. Share?
Without waiting for an answer, she sat down neatly, her tail curled around her paws. She proudly licked herself, internally admiring how her beautiful cream-colored fur flashed magnificently in the sunlight. Birchnose had always been a proud cat. Her nose twitched - delicious scents were coming from the prey, but what was even more delicious was the vole. Because of her amazing sense of smell, she could already sniff out the vole, it's burrow right outside camp. I'll get it when the time for sharing tongues is done, she promised herself. but, oh, I have such a good nose! I bet SIRENSTAR can't even match that!

The | Future | Isn't | A | Crystal | BallThe leader smelled an approaching cat. She looked up from where she was and saw Birchnose heading towards her. She stopped grooming herself and sat up. The warrior dipped her head, Sirenstar returning the motion. It showed that she was just a cat, like everyone else. Sirenstar wanted others to feel that they can talk to her about anything and besides the fact that she is a leader, she was just like them. Though, she did think she deserved some respect. She wasn't going to to treat others like her slave. She was here to guide them, keep the Clan together, and protect them. it was a big responsibility, but so far it was going smoothly.
The leader smiled and nodded to Birchnose. Thank you, Birchnose. She took a bite of the vole. It was delicious and a juicy one, a good catch for the warrior. Your a very good hunter. I'm glad the prey is running so well. We'll have plenty for leaf-bare. It was very good news. Who knows what will come that leaf-bare. Anything can happen...
